FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  JOINT VENTURE GETS STARTED ON WICHITA FALLS CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION CENTER

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (April 28, 2016) –Sundt Construction, Inc. (www.sundt.com) and a joint venture partner have started construction on a Career and Technical Education Center for the Wichita Falls Independent School District (WFISD).

The Trinity Hughes|Sundt Joint Venture was given the go-ahead to begin work by the school district during a board of trustees meeting last month. The board approved a guaranteed maximum price of $30,282,449 for the bond-funded center.

The 123,000-square-foot center will prepare the district’s high-school students for college or careers. Students will receive advanced skills, certification, college credits, and the ability to explore their futures from the comfort of high school.

“This is a long-needed project that will provide new learning technology and prepare students to continue their education and contribute to the community,” said Sundt Area Manager Bob Aniol.

The project is scheduled for completion next summer.

According to the WFISD website, the district operates 29 campuses and is the largest public school district of the 38 in North Texas.

Sundt has more than 45 years and nearly $2 billion of project work throughout the Lone Star State. Among the notable Texas projects are the West Seventh Street Bridge, Fort Worth; Warrior in Transition Barracks at Fort Bliss, Fort Sam Houston and Fort Hood; Reunion Tower, Dallas; Legacy Town Centers, Plano; work at Austin Bergstrom International Airport; the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) 911 Dispatch Center, San Antonio; the Career and Technology Education (CATE) building at Brackenridge High School, San Antonio; and the Wichita Falls Regional Airport terminal.
