NFL MVP JOE THEISMANN TO SPEAK AT GOVERNOR'S SMALL BUSINESS FORUM IN WICHITA FALLS
Wichita Falls, TX (September 1, 2015) - The Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce, together with the Texas Governor's Office, Workforce Solutions North Texas and the Small Business Development Center will host the Texas Governor's Small Business Forum in Wichita Falls on Thursday, October 8th. The Forum is designed to give entrepreneurs and small business professionals, valuable tools, skills, and knowledge needed to thrive in today's fast-paced economy.
The keynote speaker for the event will be Joe Theismann, a successful entrepreneur, former NFL MVP quarterback and Super Bowl Champion for the Washington Redskins. After his remarkable playing career, Theismann spent the last two decades working for ESPN and the NFL Network. He will speak on his experience in finding success both in football and business.
Additionally, communications expert Bill Graham will teach real life applications on how to better communicate as leaders and managers, both with customers and employees. Graham helps individuals and groups take their complicated stories, streamline them, and then powerfully deliver them for maximum results.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear a panel discussion regarding the current issues facing our local workforce, specifically focused on career and technical education. Panel guests include Mona Statser, Executive Director of Workforce Solutions North Texas, Michael Kuhrt, Superintendent for Wichita Falls ISD and Dr. Gary Don Harkey, Dean of Instruction at Vernon College.
The Small Business Development Center will present the annual awards to this year's small business winners. Vanda Culler, Director of America's SBDC at Midwestern State University says, "We are excited to honor small business owners in Wichita Falls. These awards will showcase excellence in our business community. Small business owners are vital to our local economy and we are proud to recognize them as part of this event."
