Exciting news came to Wichita Falls during the annual Better Business Bureau Torch Awards for Ethics luncheon.
One of 2018’s winners was awarded the International Torch Award for Ethics in the Small Business Category: 4 Wheel Performance.
“To enter the International Torch Award for Ethics, a business must first be a winner of their local BBB award program. BBBs in Canada and the United States conduct local competitions, forwarding winning entries for consideration in the International Torch Award competition. If a local BBB does not have a business award program, businesses in that BBB’s service area are deemed ineligible to enter the International Torch Award program.”
Not only did 4 Wheel Performance win the local award for the small category in 2018, but they were also submitted to the international awards and was selected from among 106 other small category winners in the US and Canada.
In order to win the local and international awards, each participant must show proof of the following 6 criteria:
- Leadership Commitment to Ethical Practices
- Communication of Ethical Practices
- Leadership Practices to Unify the Organization
- Organizational Commitment to Performance Management Practices
- Organizational Commitment to Ethical Human Resource Practices
- Organizational Commitment to the Community
4 Wheel Performance opened in 2005
Dawson Druesedow opened 4 Wheel Performance (4WP) in 2005 while completing his degree in criminal justice at Midwestern State University. Dawson was driven to provide our local area with a premier location to customize vehicles with high-quality products.
“Working for others and later working for my own company, I drew on those early life-lessons. What once was a decent set of values and ethics, soon became a much stronger set when I opened the shop. My personal business ethics were drawn from a desire to put accessories on the way I would want it done to my vehicle; to treat my customers the way I would want to be treated as a customer and; to treat my employees the way I would want to be treated as an employee. Maybe this is business language for the Bible’s language of do unto others…” read Dawson’s original Torch Award submission.
After three years of success, Dawson and 4 Wheel Performance relocated to Kemp Boulevard and again in 2019 to their grand 8,000 square foot location at 3905 Wayne Ave Suite B in Wichita Falls. This larger location allows for easier access for clients and quicker turnaround times due to the addition of lifts and a state-of-the-art alignment lift.
This increase in space allows 4WP to help more customers at a faster rate and grow staff. 4WP currently employs 4 people and Druesedow is looking to add 2 more installers, counter salespeople, an internet salesperson, and a marketing person.
Congratulations to Dawson and 4 Wheel Performance on this phenomenal win because of their commitment to excellence in business ethics.
