Panda Biotech, which is opening a hemp-processing plant in Wichita Falls, announced this week that they are entering into a global partnership with AGI Denim.
The teaming will allow the industries to combine industry-leading denim manufacturing with American-grown and processed industrial hemp.
Panda Biotech’s hemp-processing plant in Wichita Falls is the largest of its kind in the Western Hemisphere and believed the be the largest in the world.
The companies call the partnership an exciting step forward for innovation in the hemp industry and for eco-conscious consumers.
Customers are increasingly demanding high quality and sustainable products that conserve natural resources and reduce carbon footprints.
AGI and Panda will work together to discover how hemp fiber can be used to create strong, high-quality denim products.
Panda Biotech’s hemp supply chain is easily traceable with the product grown and processed completely in the United States.
The collaboration will allow both companies and their brand partners to track hemp fiber from raw plant to finished goods.
AGI Denim is the first company to partner with Panda Biotech for hemp products.
“This partnership with Panda Biotech is an excellent opportunity for AGI, and we are thrilled to be working with a team of people who share the same passion for sustainability within the industry that we do. What we found most compelling about this ground-breaking, female-led company is the traceability angle that goes right back to the American farmer,” said Hasan Javed, executive director of AGI Denim. “Given hemp’s incredibly positive impact on the environment, we strongly believe that it is the future and the way forward. We’re excited to see what innovative new materials will come from this collaboration.”
