Recently, the Wichita Falls Chamber presented its Remote Worker Incentive at “Economix” in Scottsdale, Arizona. This event is a blending of economic development professionals, coming together to stir additional insights and practical tools to enhance work in their respective communities.
Developed by the professionals at Consultant Connect, the Economix program agenda included:
- Best-selling author, Jon Gordon, speaking on positive leadership and energy
- A substantive presentation on the Art of Hosting a Site Visit
- Insight on the need to “Think Like a Start Up” from Guillermo Mazier of Wavteq
- An inspiring story of Damon West and his success after being released from prison. We even got a free copy of his book “Be A Coffee Bean.”
I was also privileged to share the stage with two great industry professionals – Kimm Lauterbach of REDI Cincinnati and Ann Blair Miller of the Roanoke Regional Partnership – as we presented innovative and unique programs our organizations have undertaken to benefit our community and region.
Remote Worker Incentive in Wichita Falls
Speaking about our cutting-edge Wichita Falls Remote Worker Incentive to the Economix audience was both exhilarating and humbling. We developed the incentive for two reasons:
- Develop a strategy to address the growing trend of remote workers.
- Strengthen the Wichita Falls brand.
Presenting at Economix far surpassed those goals because the audience consisted of both fellow economic developers and key targeted site consultants. They learned Wichita Falls will be a reliable resource for remote workers no matter where the project lands. They discovered that while there are numerous remote worker programs throughout the nation, no one has one like Wichita Falls.
During my presentations, I’m compelled to quote the first line of Rick Warren’s famed book, The Purpose Driven Life… “It’s not about you”. While I gave the presentation at Economix, it is our Chamber team that created the Remote Worker Incentive, and the team will make it successful.
I do want to take this time to applaud Carla Sones, Paige Niven; Nick Riashi, Justine Griffin, Faye Davis, and Cynthia McMullin of Consultant Connect for putting on a first-class program and I’m looking forward to next year’s program.
