The Circuit has given me a new vision for what life can be. It has opened doors I did not know existed.
by Anibal Guevara | Circuit Board Member
Born in Wichita Falls to immigrant parents, I was raised with the notion that hard physical labor was synonymous with hard work. I watched my parents struggle and developed habits that gave me a mindset to match that pattern.
I joined The Circuit in 2020 at the suggestion of my boss. Our company was growing and so our leadership team needed to be developed further. I was anxious during the first couple meetings and even questioned the worthiness of my presence.
I thought, “this is not the place for me”, many times as I sat with college graduates, skilled laborers and those who built their own businesses.
Having a mentor assigned to me by The Circuit helped me change this chain of thoughts. Leaving an event at the Chamber, I recounted my arrival that night to myself many times. I had been greeted by a wave of smiles and was elated to be there with everyone. I have found my space within our membership.
The Circuit is inclusive, diverse and will create real change in the development of future community leaders who choose to take advantage of the opportunity. I look forward to participating in every event that I can these days.
I serve as a Circuit Board member to help build its future so that others may benefit just as I have. I am truly grateful for The Circuit, its members and the mentors that have enriched my life.
