CURRENTLY THIS RECRUITMENT IS LIMITED TO CURRENT EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS HEALTH DEPARTMENT.
The purpose of this position is to assist with the operations of the office of vital records. This is accomplished by receiving birth and death records, assigning file numbers, submitting to registrar for signature, issuing certified copies, and filing originals with the state. Other duties include processing acknowledgments of paternity, birth and deaths, and name changes, providing answers to questions and inquiries, ensuring billings are processed, and scanning records. Additional duties include assisting at the front desk, completing daily transmittal sheets to deposit funds received, as well as maintaining and updating the Health Department’s social media and website.
Acknowledgement of Paternity Certification.
Pre-employment test keyboarding minimum score of 30 wpm.

# Code Essential Functions
1 L Regular and reliable attendance in compliance with given schedules is a mandatory requirement of this position. Schedules may be subject to change with or without advance notice
2 S Certifies birth and death certificates, name changes, paternity acknowledgments and other vital records information by reviewing information, entering information into systems for verifications, assigning file numbers, completing certified copies, filing the information with the state, and filing originals. Issues birth and death records upon request by reviewing applications and certifying copies.
3 S Completes daily transmittal and deposit reports by balancing cash drawers, reviewing activity logs for vital records and the front desk, and completing all paperwork to deposit and track funds accordingly.
4 S Responsible for development and maintenance of the Health Department’s website and social media pages, to include Facebook and Twitter. Responds to customer requests, to include gathering information or forwarding request to appropriate division.

Formal Education Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency.
