Position:            Furnace Operator  

In order to be considered for this position, an employee must have been in their current position a minimum of one year, no active written warning and acceptable attendance with solid performance in the following areas: attitude, initiative, quality of work and the ability to diligently apply knowledge and skills.



  1. Must complete OJT operator training
  2. Must take and pass the Furnace Operator Test with a score of 75%



  1. Operate atmosphere, vacuum and Hydrogen Fluoride Ion (HF) furnaces for coating, cleaning and heat treating of parts per written instructions
  2. Mix coating powders as required per PMS specifications
  3. Pack and unpack coated parts
  4. Program controls and monitor operating parameters for furnace runs
  5. Make routine entries on charts and routing travelers and log data into RFMS along with trace ability records
  6. Perform preventative and minor maintenance as required
  7. Maintain a neat and orderly work area
  8. Comply with all documentation (including SOP’s, PMS’s, Routers)
  9. May be required to be a certified forklift driver
  10.  Other duties as required to support company objectives
  11.  Setup and run furnace temperature uniformity surveys
  12.  Troubleshoot furnace related temperature issues
  13.  Assemble O.E.M. heat treat coating batches based on alloy


Position reports to: Operations Supervisor  

Shift/Hours: Rotating Shift 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Tech Level: Tech III
