Position:                   Product- Process Quality Manager

We are currently searching for a Product/Process Quality Manager to join our team at Pratt & Whitney Component Repairs in Wichita Falls, Texas.  At Pratt & Whitney, we believe diversity of thought enables creativity, innovation, and a foundation for inclusion. This position will provide the opportunity to gain experience working with and leading a dynamic Quality Inspection Team within our facility while at the same time have the opportunity and experience of working with various customers and within multiple disciplines across our customer base. Candidates for this position will have a direct impact on customer satisfaction as well as overall performance metrics within our facility. The value streams within our operation provide Inspection, Repair and Overhaul of many commercial aerospace components and includes the application of coatings and heat treatment for OEM products.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Will be the main focal point for all Regulatory controls and requirements affecting the processing and compliance of product within our operation.
    • FAA, EASA, CAAC, ISO, AS9110
    • Will serve as the primary contact for all External Audits for Regulatory Compliance.
    • Implements and maintains the Quality System in accordance with current quality standards, reporting the performance to staff level management.
    • Supports the development, implementation and continuous improvement of procedures within the facility.
  • Ensure compliance to all Company, Customer, Regulatory and other procedures and requirements fostering a Quality culture throughout all functions of the organization in a positive and team building manner.
  • The position will oversee the Creation, Ownership, and Maintenance of all Control manuals and regulatory documents for the site.
    • Quality Manual, Repair Station Manual, Repair Station Roster, CAAC Manual, FAA and CAAC Capabilities Listings.
  • Works closely with Quality Supervision to help to identify, create and monitor Quality Targets for the facility to help ensure compliance to all goals and responsibilities.
  • Closely monitor Scrap, Rework and Escapes to help drive the reduction/elimination of these within the shop and reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ).
  • Responsible for identifying and establishing procedures for maintaining high standards of Quality, Reliability and Product Safety of all components.
  • Attend, participate and lead group meetings, teleconferences and or training sessions as required in the facility.
  • Works closely with Quality Supervision, Engineering and Production on investigations, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective Action Solutions as needed.
  • Focus on Communication, Training, Teaming Management Practices, and employee respect to help foster a diverse culture of engaged and committed employees.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of combined experience in Quality Assurance and/or Manufacturing Engineering, preferably with some direct supervisor experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering or Science related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven flexibility and adaptability in high stress, ambiguous environments.
  • Strong ability to plan and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Strong computer skills, (MS Office suite, internal processing software, etc.).
  • Understanding of basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.
  • Knowledge and experience with AS9100 certification.
  • US citizenship required.
  • Experience with Quality Sciences, Quality Systems, and practical application of analytical skills in Root Cause Analysis, Corrective and Preventive Action at the Product, Customer and Business levels.
  • Continuous Improvement Experience, preferably within a Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Design and/or Manufacturing Process Engineering environment.
  • Working knowledge of shop practices, processes and procedures.

  • Certification in Red-X, 6 Sigma, or similar data driven problem solving approach.

  • Ability to interpret regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Repairman’s Certificate must be attained within 6 months of hire.

Shift/Hours:        First Shift (Monday – Friday)
